Principal Investigator
Yongjin Choi is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in CEE department at University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass). Before joining UMass in 2026, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the KAIST and Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2024. His research aims to make geotechnical analysis more reliable, efficient, and autonomous through artificial intelligence and scientific computing. He focuses on physics-aware AI simulators, inverse modeling, uncertainty quantification, and agentic AI systems for intelligent geohazard prediction, mitigation, and engineering decision making.
